Co-producing important Easy Read

Emma Jane joined others in the focus group for the co-production of new resources at Surrey & Sussex Hospital Trust.

Thank you to Charlotte Rowbotham from Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust for co-producing the first easy read Patient Questionnaire for breast screening appointments.

These ensure accessible forms are available for anyone needing them, co-produced in a totally inclusive forum.

The Pro-Active Community members, and people from Active Prospects UK have provided valuable initial ideas on wording, format, colours, font and images, then feedback on the first draft version. Changes include adding a tape measure visual, better use of library images not cartoons, expanding diverse ethnic representation, updating calendar images and using ‘Plain English’ wording.

Everyone will benefit from this and importantly this process and whole project has opened up new and improved accessibility awareness within the communication team at SASH.
