L D Week Day 3 - Will you work with me?

The theme for today is ”Will you work with me?”

Member Michael and colleague Elizabeth spent the morning refreshing their train the trainer materials ready for 28th June and 5th July, when they are delivering Learning Disability Awareness training to the 2024 cohort of Student Midwives at University of Surrey.

“This is important, we are doing this again so new parents know and understand learning disability better”

Dr Anna Cox brought all the training resources to Active Prospects UK central office so everyone could practice and be in a known place, supported by people they feel at ease with.

Learning Disability Week gives everybody an opportunity to reflect on reasonable adjustments and raising awareness, paid work is an important part of building confidence and self worth.
