London Bound for another new book launch!!

Pro-Active Community member Michael was invited as a guest reader to the Beyond Words book launch at the Foundary in Vauxhall, joining ASH CEO Hazel Cheeseman, CEO Katie Smith, author Anne Hunt and illustrator Belinda Evans.

The invited audience, healthcare professionals, support staff, advocates, family members and experts with lived experience agreed the incentive to stop smoking was encouraged through ensuring equity to anyone wanting to give up. Not something currently happening for members in communities with learning disability.

Michael said “I really enjoyed today, speaking to a large group, and maybe helping friends I know stop smoking by showing them the book”

“I’m going to hilight my name in the back so they see I helped to trial this book title”

“Knowing the feedback we gave helped make changes to the pictures was good, we made things easier to talk about”

A very successful day that yet again demonstrates the importance of supporting co-production at every opportunity.
