Surrey Taxi firm signs up to the Disability Taxi Charter

A momentous day for Pro-Active Community Chair Leanne as she met with REDHILL ROAD RUNNERS Terry Carter to discuss the Disability Taxi Charter members have drawn up, following a year long campaign.

As the first taxi firm in Surrey agrees to commit to the 8 Charter categories, Terry spoke on behalf of Road Runners to say, “These are all very important things every driver should take into consideration”

Leanne suggested the Charter could be a part of all newly licenced drivers and Terry has agreed, “This will go into their induction booklet, we are making a new one and will include this so all drivers know and are disability aware”

Terry reminded Leanne to share with members if booking for wheelchairs and walkers, ‘it is best to ask for an estate car when you book’

Road Runners are looking to include their commitment to the Charter on their website to reassure clients when booking.

Congratulations Road Runners, you are leading the way.
